A one-of-a-kind alliance.

About PQMD

PQMD is a global cross-sector alliance of nonprofit and corporate organizations working together to advance sustainable, equitable access to quality healthcare in underserved communities and populations in crisis.

For nearly 30 years, PQMD has created a space for organizations across sectors to share expertise, strengthen practices, build trusted partnerships, and address global health challenges that no organization can tackle alone.

Who We Are

Purpose, vision and story

Our mission

PQMD is a global collaboration that promotes sustainable access to quality health care in underserved communities and populations in crisis.

Our vision

A world in which there is universal access to health and well being.

Our story

PQMD’s story began in 1996, when a group of nonprofit and corporate organizations came together around a shared need for greater quality and accountability in medical donations.

Better together.

PQMD creates a trusted space where nonprofit and corporate leaders can work across organizational and sector boundaries around shared global health priorities.

Members bring different perspectives, expertise, resources, and experiences to the table. Through candid exchange and collaboration, they learn from one another, advance best practices, strengthen programs and partnerships, and explore solutions to shared challenges.

That cross-sector model is at the heart of PQMD. It allows organizations with different roles in global health to build relationships, exchange practical knowledge, and increase their individual and collective impact.

How PQMD works.

PQMD convenes organizations across sectors to learn from one another, develop and share best practices, build relationships, and collaborate around emerging global health priorities.

Convene & collaborate.

Our work includes in-person events and convenings, webinars and educational programs, and peer networks and working groups that connect members across sectors.

Guidelines & tools.

Internationally recognized Guidelines and practical tools and resources help members strengthen their work.

Six strategic Pillars.

PQMD brings members together around shared priorities: Donation Guidelines, Humanitarian Assistance, Disaster Response, Health System Strengthening, Knowledge & Innovation, and Climate & Health.

What PQMD does—and doesn’t do.

What we don’t do

PQMD does not arrange or broker medical product donations, nor is it a regulatory or watchdog organization. Our Guidelines are voluntary resources designed to advance quality, responsible practices across medical donations, medical missions, and rare disease programs.

What we do

PQMD supports progress through collaboration, education, shared learning, practical resources, and the exchange of expertise across our network.
