Guidelines

PQMD Guidelines Portfolio.

Internationally recognized, voluntary frameworks developed from cross-sector expertise — advancing quality and responsible practice across medical donations, medical missions, and rare disease programs.

PQMD does not arrange or broker donations, nor is it a regulatory or watchdog body. Its Guidelines are voluntary resources, shaped by member expertise, that help organizations strengthen quality, accountability, and responsible practice in their own programs.

Three Guidelines. One shared standard of quality.

Quality Medical Donation Guidelines

Standards for appropriate, needs-based donations of medical products — covering product quality, shelf life, labeling, and coordination with recipients.

Medical Mission Guidelines

Practical standards for organizations planning and running short-term medical missions responsibly, safely, and in partnership with local health systems.

Rare Disease Program Guidelines

Guidance for sustainable, ethical rare disease patient programs, from access and eligibility to program transition and continuity of care.

Guidelines in practice.

Practical toolkits and templates help members apply the Guidelines directly in their programs.

Toolkits

Step-by-step toolkits and templates for putting the Guidelines to work in your own programs.
